Church Covenant 2025

As elders and pastors, we take seriously our commitment to shepherd and give an account for the flock God has entrusted to us (1 Pet. 5:2, Heb. 13:17). This year, we are asking all who call Rockland ‘home’ to let us know 1) how we can help you flourish in your faith, and 2) if you desire to be a member at Rockland (whether for the first time or continuing). This covenant is simply a reminder to us all of the commitments members make to each other and the Truth that unites us.

Please complete the following covenant and indicate your agreement in two places.

Questions about membership? View our membership page. Please feel free to contact any of our elders or pastors with questions or comments.

We want to serve you, support you, and see your faith thrive! Thank you for allowing us this privilege to share in the joy of belonging to a local church.

Humbly,
Your team of elders/pastors

What needs in your life can we help meet? How can we shepherd you to know and grow in Jesus more this year? For example: Discovering your spiritual gifts? Growing in knowledge of the Bible? Marriage? Parenting? Dealing with grief? Are you looking for a place to serve?

**This will be kept strictly confidential, but please feel free to email one of our staff pastors directly if you are more comfortable doing so. Our contact info is on the website.

OUR FOUR MUTUAL COMMITMENTS

Though we recognize seasons of life make some of these more difficult at times, these are the essential commitments we are making to one another.

I am committed to:
  1. Worshipping together in-person regularly
  2. Connecting with my fellow believers in Biblical community
  3. Serving one another in the church
  4. Giving regularly, cheerfully, and generously to the general budget

OUR CORE BELIEFS

Rockland Community Church recognizes the Bible as sufficient for faith and practice and holds that living in accordance with its teachings and bearing fruit is the evidence of genuine faith.

We believe in:
  • The only true God, the sovereign Creator and Sustainer of all things, existing eternally in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
  • The divine inspiration, entire trustworthiness and authority of the Bible in faith and practice.
  • The full deity and humanity of Jesus Christ, who lived as a perfect example, who atoned for the sins of the world at the cross, who was bodily raised from the dead and ascended as both Lord and Savior, and who will return in power and glory in the fullness of time to judge the living and the dead, to consummate history and the eternal plan of God.
  • The true Church, which is composed of all persons who through saving faith in Jesus Christ and the sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit are united together in the body of Christ. The Church finds her visible, yet imperfect, expression where the Word of God is preached in its purity, and baptism and communion are administered in their integrity, where scriptural discipline is practiced, and where loving fellowship is maintained.
  • The value and dignity of all humankind, originally created in God’s image to live in love and holiness, but who became alienated from God and each other because of sin and guilt, and who are justly subject to the judgment of God.
  • The justification (being forgiven and made righteous before God) by God’s grace of all who repent and put their faith in Jesus Christ for salvation. We affirm God’s offer of redemption and restoration to all who confess and forsake their sin, seeking His mercy and forgiveness through Jesus Christ.
  • The ministry of the Holy Spirit whose indwelling and transforming power enables us to live out our new life and new calling to evangelism and discipleship within the fellowship of the Church.
  • As brothers and sisters in Christ, the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ, with equality in race, between men and women, and age.
